Tab API

Props

Props of the native component are also available.

action

A ref for imperative actions. It currently only supports focusVisible() action.

color

The color of the component. It supports those theme colors that make sense for this component.

component

The component used for the root node. Either a string to use a HTML element or a component.

Type:elementType


disabled

If true, the component is disabled.

Type:bool

Default:false


disableIndicator

If true, the pseudo element indicator is hidden.

Type:bool

Default:false


indicatorInset

If true, the indicator stay within the padding based on the Tabs orientation.

Type:bool

Default:false


indicatorPlacement

The indicator's position when the Tab is selected.

Type:'bottom'

Default:row ? 'bottom' : 'right'


onChange

Callback invoked when new value is being set.

orientation

The content direction flow.

Type:'horizontal'

Default:'horizontal'


slotProps

The props used for each slot inside.

slots

The components used for each slot inside.

See Slots API below for more details.

sx

The system prop that allows defining system overrides as well as additional CSS styles.

value

You can provide your own value. Otherwise, it falls back to the child position index.

variant

The global variant to use.

The ref is forwarded to the root element.

The component that renders the root.

Class name: .MuiTab-root

Default component: 'button'


CSS classes

These class names are useful for styling with CSS. They are applied to the component's slots when specific states are triggered.

Class name applied to the root element if disabled={true}.


.Mui-focusVisibleSTATE

Class name applied to the root element when its focus is visible.


.Mui-selectedSTATE

Class name applied to the root element when it is selected.

Class name applied to the root element when color inversion is triggered.
